Chardonnay
It is of French origin, the exclusive vine of the great white wines of Burgundy. The early harvested Chardonnay wine has a gentle, elegant smell reminding of the frash hay, an it has lively, playful acids. Harvested after it is fully ripe, in adequate climatic endowments it has a rich and elegant blend of acids. In such conditions it can be stored for a long time; its quality continously improves as time passes, which made it one of the most popular wines of the world. A fashionable way of making Chardonnay wine is the so-colled barrique ripening, which must be done with great expertise, however, as the excessive oaken flavour may dominate over the flavour typical of the grape or the growing area.
